It was blowing 20 to 30 knots of Nor-Wester at Rye Yacht Club today. Races 6 and 7 of the Mobium Group Nationals were won by Will Wright who continued with his fine form in very challenging conditions including steep Port Phillip chop and tricky start lines.
There are two more days of competition to go, with the marathon, freestyle and slalom events to be held on Saturday and Sunday. The forecast continues to look very fresh, with 25 knot Westerlies on the cards for Saturday, which should make the marathon pretty interesting… We are all looking forward to it.
Congratulations to all the sailors who blitzed today. Special mention to top light weight sailor Rob Howard who was really showing us how to hang on in the big gusts.
Will Wright returns to the beach after Race 6.
