It’s been windy, wavy and sunny for Day Two of the Mobium Group Nationals. Two races were held this morning in incredibly challenging cross-on-shore 20+ knot nor-westers. Will Wright, Roger Crawford, Nick Bez, Stu Gilbert and Dan Bainbridge continued to excel in the heavy wind and steep chop, with Wright winning both races. This afternoon’s course races have been cancelled as the wind has continued to freshen and gusts of over 30 knots have been recorded. Instead, the sailors are currently preparing for the (unauthorised and completely unofficial) Boat Races, which will be held this afternoon at the club house. My money is on the New South Welshman, who are expected to field a strong team of fast and focussed drinkers.
